Tom "TJ" Hughes
In 1990, Mr. Hughes was part of an entrepreneurial group that founded Electronic Claims & Funding, Inc. (ECF), and built the company into the nation's largest dental electronic claims clearinghouse. In 1995, ECF was sold to MedeAmerica and today ECF is part of the Dental Division of Emdeon.
In 1996, Mr. Hughes founded TJSGroup LLC, an IT cooperative to bring together and support independent IT consultants with clients in the healthcare industry.
In 1997, Mr. Hughes became one of the founding partners in National Electronic Attachment (NEA), and helped build the NEA to be the largest attachment clearinghouse in the dental industry. At NEA, Mr. Hughes was the primary architect of the Fastattach software, and designed and built a world class support team. During his tenure, Mr. Hughes held the positions of Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and HIPAA Compliance Officer with the Company until his retirement at the end of 2011.
Mr. Hughes is currently focusing his efforts on TJSGroup full time to bring his expertise to the dental industry.
Mr. Hughes is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, as well as an avid amateur radio operator. Mr. Hughes has a wife and two children.
